De Pere JV Boys and Girls Compete Strongly at Notre Dame Academy Invite

The De Pere JV track and field teams delivered a well-rounded performance at the Notre Dame Academy Invite on April 16, showcasing depth, emerging talent, and several standout finishes across both the boys and girls squads.

Boys Team Highlights

The De Pere boys team turned in an impressive showing, finishing second overall with 79.5 points in the team standings.

Distance events proved to be a major strength. De Pere dominated the 1600-meter run, taking the top two spots with Jackson Lemke (4:52.09) and Emmett Mijatovich (4:52.63).
Mijatovich continued his strong day by winning the 3200-meter run in 11:06.95, while teammates Broderik Hansen and Mason Long also placed in the top five.

In the 800-meter run, Dominick Alvarado Raeder led the charge with a first-place finish (2:10.18), followed by another runner-up finish from Lemke.

De Pere also found success in relays. The team captured first place in the 4x800 relay (9:20.50), highlighting strong teamwork and endurance.

On the sprint side, Andrew Stiles stood out by winning the 100-meter dash (11.90) and later placing third in the 200-meter dash.

Field events added valuable points as well, including solid finishes in shot put and discus, helping round out a balanced team effort.


Girls Team Highlights

The De Pere girls team placed fifth overall with 46.5 points, with several athletes delivering strong individual performances and contributing to relay success.

In distance events, Maya Suda led the way with a fourth-place finish in the 1600-meter run (6:33.29) and followed it up with another strong performance in the 800-meter run, placing fourth again.

The 4x200-meter relay team turned in one of the top performances of the day, finishing second with a time of 2:04.50.

De Pere also had success in hurdles, where Julissa Metoxen placed second in the 300-meter hurdles, showing strong form and consistency.

In the field events, the girls excelled in throwing events. Olivia Schmidt led a standout performance by winning the shot put, while also placing second in the discus, with teammates contributing additional points in both events.


Overall Takeaways

The meet highlighted De Pere’s depth, especially in distance running and relays on the boys side, while the girls demonstrated strength in field events and steady improvement across track disciplines.

With multiple event wins, podium finishes, and strong team placements, De Pere’s JV squads showed promising development and competitiveness as the season continues.
